About Us
LOVE
CONNECTION
EMPOWERMENT
Every day, approximately 200 people die from drug overdoses. Despite increased attention, this number continues to rise. Beyond Dope exists to change that β one community, one event, one conversation at a time.
The Origin
Born from
Loss
On March 2nd, 2016, founder Deanna Dunne's brother Michael Dunne died from a drug overdose. It's easy to minimize these lives to a statistic, a number, or just a word β βjunkies.β It hides our vulnerability and keeps us safe from the pain. But these are people, each with their own unique and meaningful lives, families, friends, dreams, goals, and stories.
If we are to make any dent in combating this epidemic, we must not lose sight of this β and we must work to empower, love, and connect with each other.
Our Mission
